Washed coffee. Selected from our 8th harvest day in October 2017, this Bin lot comes from a group of pure k7 arabica situated on red volcanic soil. Located at the highest point on the farm and the youngest of all our trees, their aspect and size is ideal for even ripening. A well rounded and sweet coffee with pleasant citric acidity and high complexity. Nuances of watermelon, apple and rum raisin. It has a mysterious quality to the syrup in the final sips of a short black espresso that lingers and develops on the pallet.
From MTC group: "Cupping score 83.5, 84. Honey and fruit in aroma, medium acidity and sweetness, medium body, notes of toffee, apricot, figs, chocolate and herbs."
Washed coffee. That is: picked when prime then straightaway depulped using water in mechanical processes and dried : suitable as plunger, espresso and filter. Washed coffee has a cleaner profile with nuanced flavour. We roast this coffee to a medium/city level. This coffee is most suitable for espresso, plunger and filter.
Naturals and winey. That is: "Naturals" coffee is coffee bean that has been allowed to stay on the tree so that the pulp (or juicy fruit layer) dries and slightly ferments around the seed. It is mechanically dried. The result is a fruitier and more intense cup with a good body. There is sometimes an addition of winey process in our bundja, which is prime cherry that is sun dried quickly without pulping.

My first words after trying the microlot was 'wow', even with high expectations it exceeded expectations.
The flavour and texture are clean with no bitterness yet still hold a wonderful coffee taste that you wake up for. A long black needs no sugar, at all, it's just great as is, no dirt.
I don't think I'll be buying anything else any more.
