Roaster's note: Washed coffee. Selected from our first 3 harvest days, this Bin lot comes from a group of pure Kenyan (K7) Arabica specialty coffee situated on red volcanic soil. They were pruned using a new method last year, allowing in more light and for a bigger berry to form. And we are very happy with the result. It ripened earlier than previous years and more evenly. It ticks all our boxes: a well rounded and sweet coffee with pleasant citric acidity and fascinating complexity. Nuances of watermelon, apple and sultanas. It has a mysterious quality to the thick syrup in the final sips of a short black espresso that lingers and develops on the palate. Usable across all applications that a medium plus roast is suited to: espresso, plunger, aeropress.
